Away fans in the home ends
|
I know it happens and more so since we moved but surely Nicky Hawkins of West Ham fan TV shouldn't be seen to encourage this kind of cuntary:

There use to be a sign outside the old south bank that stated that due to the London fan base of Liverpool fans that they had the freedom of the ground.

I've never done it as I couldn't stay quiet but I would also never invite away fans to sit next to me, even my mates. That Nicky seems like a decent bloke but he has had a go a few times about the fans that are in the stadium and then happily sits with Mickeys in our end.
At the Tottenham match I saw 3 Chinese tourists walking through the party deck Bobby Moore end with Spurs (not 50/50) scarves on. Luckily the stewards clocked them pretty quickly and moved them down the other end sharpish. Fucking clueless idiots, they must think it's the same as a Spanish stadium.

To be honest, I don't have a problem with those Scousers in the home end, because they were discreet and kept themselves to themselves. I've done it in the past, so good luck to them.
Back in the 90s it would add an element danger to the day, which in all honesty can bring more excitement than the football itself.

The scouser talking is the main man running Red Men TV, which is their fan youtube channel. They seem decent lads; after we won at Anfield, the West Ham TV boys were on the Red Men channel for a post match pint and they were very magnanimous in defeat. Pretty funny fuckers to be fair.
I had to laugh at the A.Young claret abd blue top. What the fuck was that all about? Much worse than non colour wearing scousers keeping their mouths shut.

Have done it loads of times, as has my old man throughout the 70s & 80s (if necessary) - no problem with other fans doing it as long as they don't take the piss.

They even helped to make the home section not look so unsold out, so it's hard to complain.

Listen.. We're as guilty as charged for this behaviour.
Right up there.
So crying about some scouse cunts doing the exact same is a bit rich.
If you do it..be prepared to get a clump..and don't fuckin moan about it

I've fine this at away grounds a few times. Never had any grief as I'm very careful with what I say and respect the club I'm a guest at.
No problem with it unless they pipe up too much and take the piss

First time I did it was 1994 away at Liverpool coincidently. I was sat front row main stand - right next to where Cottee got sent off. 0-0 though. Hell of a result.

How times have changed. Back in the 60's, 70's, we always went in the home end, unless we were intercepted by the OB outside. Admittedly we did come unstuck a few times, but more often that not we held our own. The Kop was the only exception, we never attempted that as I recall.

Have done it dozens of times over the years and never stay quiet. Got moved from the Stretford End in the 90s with about 20 others and thrown out of the shelf at the linkeker game at WHL. Was also in the German end when we beat them 5-1. The most concerned I've been about taking a shoeing was Mancs in the cup last year as they took serious umbridge to several dozen hammers in their end when payet scored. Obviously prefer the right end...but if you want to see the game, you want to see the game!!

I've only done it twice, Man U and Newcastle back in the 80/90's - have to admit I found it difficult to keep quiet, especially when we went ahead both times!

When you sit as an away fan with the home supporters it's about having some respect, you shouldn't be there, so don't give anyone the opportunity to clump you are have you removed. I've had opposition fans, mates, sit with me at home and they manage to behave themselves. I've sat with home fans at old trafford many times (friend is a st holder), at spurs, arsenal, chelsea and a few other grounds. I think the difference is when oppo fans aren't there with mates who are fans of the home team, they get pissed up and think they can take liberties.
